I have only read as far as chapter 18. But this is what I have read so far about the ¨kingdom of God¨...

Chapter 16:16 gives us some concret things about the kingdom of God. Jesus says that ¨the Law and the Prophets were proclaimed¨up until that time, but now that the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached everyone is forcing their way into it. But he clearifies that the Law is not disaperaing. (Elsewhere we find that the Bible says that Jesus came not to eliminate the law but to fulfill it in us by his power and doing- that we no longer have to struggle the way they used to to be in God´s kingdom)

* And whala! Jesus says it out straight in chapter 17:20. ¨The kingdom of God does not come with careful observation, nor will people say ´Here it is,´or ´There it is,´because the kingdom of God is within you.¨

Then he teaches about how to access it. Like a little child. How do little children approach things? Perhaps a child trusts the control of thier parents. Or perhaps they have an inocense about them...

18:24-30 talks about how hard it is for us to enter the kingdom of God! There are so many things we do not want to give up so that we can enter his kingdom. It is difficult to follow him. Perhaps ¨like a child¨ means that children are so much more able to give up things they have in subsitute for something better, something they really want.

The more I have, the more difficult it is for me to surrender that control and ¨follow¨ Jesus.
